Orleans Cape Cod Beach Information
Skaket Beach - This Cape Cod Bay beach is a great, kid friendly beach. It is a saltwater beach where the tide changes are drastic.
At low tide you are able to walk hundreds of yards out on sandbars.
When the tide is in you are able to swim and enjoy a little
river on the East end of the beach. A great place to see some small wildlife such as crabs, horseshoe crabs, clams, small fish, etc.
A wonderful sunset spot. Lifeguarded, facilities and food.
Nauset Beach - This Atlantic Ocean beach is gorgeous anytime of day and during any weather. There can be waves for the surfers, great sand for sandcastles and long beach walks. During hot summer days it is great for people watching and just relaxing. Make sure to hit the Liams snack shack for some onion rings and fried seafood. Just a great ocean beach. Lifeguarded, facilities and great food.
Nauset Outer Beach - This is the southern or northern part of Nauset Beach where you can drive a 4wd vehicle out and get a whole new
perspective of the area. You do need to purchase a pass and have the
proper equipment. No lifeguards and No facilities
Crystal Lake - Freshwater Lake, great for the whole family. This nice, little lake is located about a half mile down on Monument Road, off of Rte. 28 in Orleans. Crystal Lake is the perfect place for a freshwater dip after being at the ocean all day. There are might be an outhouse and there are no lifeguards. The beach is a bit small and can be tough to park.
Pilgrim Lake - Freshwater Lake, great for the whole family.
Lifeguarded, restrooms and dock. An Orleans town resident sticker is needed for parking. Worth the trip after hours to take a dip and see some turtles.
Rock Harbor - A unique spot on Cape Cod Bay where fishing boats
are docked, free parking and great sunsets.
Pleasant Bay - this is a salt water bay that has several boat landings and a beautiful little beach area along Rte. 28. Make sure to take a drive by for the georgeous view on your way to Chatham Village for great shopping and dining.
Meeting House Pond - Located in beautiful East Orleans, this saltwater pond has a great swimming dock and is accessible from Barley Neck Road. Across from Nauset Marine this spot offers possible views of horseshoe crabs and harbored boats.
